BENEFITS
Skullcap derives its name from its ability to relieve tension headaches. An excellent herb for nervous tension and anxiety, it both relaxes and tones the whole nervous system; this is particularly useful with menstrual tension. It has also been used in the treatment of epilepsy and seizures.
WAY TO PREPARE
Create a cup of tea and drink when needed. Can be added to other herbs as well for a blended tea infusion. Makes an excellent tincture, Harvest leaves & flowers when they are fresh and placed in a menstruum of choice.
GROWING CONDITIONS
Season: Autumn to Early Summer - Perennial
Soil: Rich and Well Draining
Watering: Water Regularly
Position: Part shade from Spring onwards
Fertilising: Compost, Manure, Liquid feed
Use: Leaves and flowers used fresh or dried. Good for tea & tinctures.Most potent when freshly harvested! Used to help headaches
Growing tips: Requires space to spread, Does well in pots. Will die back late summer and re-sprout from the roots in spring
Companion Plants: Tulsi, Basil, Other Mint Varieties.
